Hilco Wilson Zoom Sports Glasses

Hilco Wilson Zoom Sports Glasses

Two of your greatest weapons against the Undead are your mobility and awareness of your surroundings.  What you see, or don’t see, largely effects your chance at surviving an outbreak.  The last thing anyone needs is be cornered by a group of Zombies and have your glasses fall off your face and being forced to search around for them like Thelma from Scooby-Doo.

That’s where the Hilco Wilson Zoom Sports Glasses ($99.99-$129.99) come in handy.  They’re tough, durable, well secured, and keep nasty things such as debris and blood from getting into your eyes when in sticky situations.  I would suggest a pair, even if you don’t need a perscription.

  • Meets ASTM F803 impact standards for basketball, soccer, racquetball, tennis, squash, field hockey and women’s lacrosse
  • Independently PECC Certified
  • Exclusive Grid-LOK™ side profile keeps unfriendly fingers out while maintaining excellent peripheral vision
  • Maximum airflow means less fogging
  • Premium quality, adjustable head strap

Originally intended to help train people in a variety of self defense and tactical situations with little sacrifice of mobility, and sense impairment and a high degree of protection, High Gear has proven itself to be very handy in a zombie survival situation. A very light-weight (only 7.5 lbs) suit that doesn’t restrict mobility, High Gear offers protection against anything zombies can bring to the fight, allowing you to fight to your full potential, and still affords you the necessary mobility to escape.

If you ever find yourself in a situation where the only thing preventing you from succumbing to zombie hordes is a trusty, sturdy pistol that will go BANG, no matter what you’ve put it through, then you’re probably looking for the Glock 21. This bad boy fires a .45 caliber round, giving you serious stopping power against even the most rugged reanimated corpses.

Sometimes you don’t always have time to clean your weapon after surviving an encounter, and find yourself caught right in the middle of a group of zombies at the worst possible moment. Got a little mud on your pistol? A little zombie gore splash onto the slide? dropped your gun into a pool of blood while making a fast getway? The Glock 21 has been torture tested to a ridiculous level and still performed admirably. That’s the kind of rugged reliability you need when you’re out in “the field” looking for fellow survivors and supplies.

Stanley FatMax Utility Bar

Stanley FatMax Utility Bar

Originally intended to aid in taking stuff apart (for prying, splitting, board bending and striking jobs), this handy hand tool (nicknamed the “Fubar”) is excellent for making your way through abandoned urban sprawls in the heavily infested zones, getting in and out of homes, stores and apartments while looking for shelter, supplies, or a shortcut.

It also packs a pretty mean wallop if you’re ever cornered and don’t have access to any legitimate small arms, or close quarters weaponry. The “jaws” are the perfect size for hooking and twisting zombie appendages, the pry bar end gives you some quick stop options, and the hammer head needs no explanation.

  • 4-in-1 tool for prying, splitting, board bending and striking jobs
  • One piece forged steel bar for increased durability
  • Two-tiered jaws for grabbing common dimensional lumber & decking
Beveled nail slot for pulling & prying nails
  • Textured grip for excellent comfort & control, even when wet
  • Tempered steel that prevents chipping

So they’re trying to pass this off as some type of “game” or tech demo, but the folks at the Georia Tech Augmented Environments Lab and the Savannah College of Art and Design- Atlanta have really created pure Undead survivalist gold.  Everyone knows at one point during a the apocalypse, there’s going to be a need to shoot Zombies from a helicopter to save helpless civilians:  this may be the only chance to practice hovering at 500 feet, picking off brain munchers that you’ll get besides experiencing the actual thing.  When your group ask “Has anyone every tried a daring survivor helicopter rescue?” you can proudly raise your hand and volunteer.

American Made Fire Starter

American Made Fire Starter

Fire has always been man’s most powerful tool against the harsh world around us.  At first cultivated, now mastered, fire keeps us warm during the winters, cooks our food, and gives us light against the darkness.  Nowadays most people can only start a fire with a book of matches and a can of gasoline.  In comes the American Made Fire Starter.  This essential tool is small, light, and requires no fuel other than some dry tinder to get a blaze going.  Oh yeah, it also functions wet or dry so no having to worry about soggy matches.  Are Zombies afraid of fire?  Nope.  Should I use it as a weapon against the Undead?  Probably not a good idea.  But lets face it, without fire, you might as well be better off dead, or Undead.

When plowing thru hordes of the Undead a 4-wheeler with an enclosed cabin is probably the safest way to go.  Sometimes, however, the safe answer isn’t always the best answer.  Rugged enough to traverse almost any terrain, nimble enough to weave thru just about any obstacle, and an 8.7 gallon fuel tank that can go well over 300 miles before fueling up, this is the Swiss Army Knife of land transportation. Throw a couple panniers on it and you’ll have enough supplies to boot. Trust us, this go anywhere, doing anything bike could take you no other vehicle can, and leave those Hummer drivers as Zombie food.
