Who cares if this handgun is a foot and a half long and weighs over 5 lbs. loaded? The 5 round capacity? Pfft, big f-ing deal! What about the fact that each .460 calibre bullet is about the size of two .22′s? Just line up the Zombies and take out 3 at a time!
Sometimes you just want to throw caution and sensibility to the wind and just be a Bad-Ass. The Smith & Wesson Model 460XVR Hunter is the premium choice for those who want maximum Undead destruction in as small a package as possible. Is this the best choice of handgun for the Zapocalypse? Definitely not. Does it make much sense considering it’s shear size and weight and limited capacity? Nope. But having this much raw power at your fingertips is just enough of a moral boost to keep you going to see another day.

If you can get past some of the obvious shortcomings, Jeep Wranglers are great Zombie Survival rides. They’re rugged, relatively compact, and in 4X4 variations, Rubicon tested. Unfortunately, they have limited cargo-space, very little by way of exterior protection, and compared to some of their larger cousins (such as the H1 and Land Rover), aren’t as off road ready.
The folks at Landrunner Conversions are here to help. They offer a wide variety of upgrades and accessories that are sure to get your Jeep where it needs to be by Z-Day. Upgrade the body, add a roof rack for extra storage, attach one of their mean looking fastback shells, and throw a bumper guard and winch in for good measure and you’re pretty much good to go.
You can either bring your Jeep in, or send away for the Do-It-Yourself Kit.

When you’re out on a mission to find survivors or supplies in the wilderness, or rural areas, you’ve already got plenty to bring along with you to survive. You don’t also need to bring the funk. The Sea to Summit Pocket Shower allows you to bring a warm shower with you wherever you go.
- High-performance polyurethane-coated nylon fabric is water- and leakproof; large roll-top opening allows easy filling
- Black color absorbs heat from the sun to warm the water, or you can simply add hot water directly to the bag
- Twist the shower head to control water pressure; 10-liter volume provides approximately seven minutes of showering

After a particularly tough night pushing zombies back from your home base, it’s sometimes necessary to fortify your perimeter. Exhaustion from all night fighting isn’t an excuse to put it off, because you don’t know if the next wave is on the way. The JacPac Pneumatic nailer/stapler gives you the convenience to quickly nail some boards in place and get your fence back up quickly, or strengthen your barricades. Powered by a refillable CO2 canister that you can wear on your hip, the nailer will allow you to move around quickly to the parts of your perimeter that need your attention the most.
JacPac® “nailed it” with this puppy.

There’s a good chance you’ve probably seen or heard of the move Panic Room with Jodie Foster. If you haven’t, it might be worth while to check it out: not for it’s cinema quality or entertainment value but rather to get an idea of how you’re going to plan your own Zprepared Saferoom.
American Saferoom Doors is the company that not only developed the concept of the Saferoom, but they also served as consultants on the film. They’ll provide the planning and oversee the construction of your very own Zombie proof home modifications to your desired specs. You can get a range of features such as Sliding Pocket Doors, Swing Doors, and even Hidden Bookshelf Doors, that lead into a fortified room or area of your home. Several other options are available such as Manual and Magnetic Locks, Air Filtration Systems, and Re-enforced Walls and Windows.
Personally, I plan on building a secret door into my closet that has a Fireman’s pole down to a fully stocked basement.

Barricades are great for keeping zombies at bay, but when your out in the field you can’t bring your fortifications with you. Stinger Systems Ice Electrified Shield gives you a portable barricade that you can use to keep any unwanted visitors back. The Convex shape prevents undead flailing and grabbing limbs from reaching around and getting a grip on your clothing or extremities. The bonus of this shield is the ability to shock any living threats with the flip of a switch. Not all your problems are of the undead variety. Great for urban exploration with two person teams.

It’s a good idea to protect the tools that use your tools. All the weapons in the world are useless against the Undead if your hands are mangled and chewed beyond recognition. That’s why you’re going to need a good pair of gloves that are Zombie ready and offer a good deal of protection without sacrificing mobility.
The Vector 3 Riot Gauntlet from Damascus Gear is perfect for battling Hordes of Brain Munchers. It features hard shell Carbon-Tek fiber knuckles and panels to deflect blows and debris, concealed in bite proof leather that will ensure that your hands don’t get all banged up. Fluid-proof inner glove linings to protect from Bloodborne pathogens so there’s no worry of getting infected if by chance some of the virus sneaks thru. Oh yeah, it also has hard shell plastic trauma plates with additional closed cell foam padding to protect from really nasty biters. With these puppies in your arsenal, it’s safe to say that you have your hands pretty well covered.

Hammers are great tools for both fortifying and destroying. They can be used to strengthen doors and windows, with the help of some 2x4s and nails, and no Undead skull can withstand a sharp blow the the cranium. Unfortunately, most hammers tend to be too short and fragile for our liking, with their 12″ reach and wooden handle.
That’s why we’re always on the lookout for a good Hammer for the Z Apocalypse. The TiBar16 Titanium Utility Bar from Stiletto tools is perfect for all your Undead needs. It has a longer reach than most conventional Hammers, 16″, so you don’t have to worry about the Zed-Heads getting too close. It’s one piece Titanium construction alleviates the worry of having the head fly off when in tense situations. Weighing about 2 lbs., it won’t slow you down when you’re on the go. Aside from it’s milled steel replaceable striking face, it also features a nifty claw and nail puller, which I’m sure you’ll find plenty of uses for.
NOTE: Yelling “You Can’t Touch This!”, as you embed it into a Zombie’s skull might be funny the first few times, but it gets old quick.

Most people don’t know the name John S. Barry, but almost everyone recognizes his legacy. He’s the man who made this simple, yellow and blue can ubiquitous in just about every garage in America. In honor of his passing earlier this month, Zprepared.com is reminding our readers of the contribution he made to preparing us for the Z Apocalypse.
This petroleum based wonder spray has been a fixture for do-it-yourselfers for decades. It can be used for anything from cleaning and protecting your tools and weapons, removing rust from salvaged materials, unsticking stubborn doors and locks, and getting rid of pesky squeaks that can alert Zs to your location. Personally, I like to coat my weapons with the stuff before run-ins with Zacks, as it makes it harder for them to grip and makes the gore just slide off. Their website claims over 2000 different uses but when the Zombies come, I’m sure they’ll add more to the list. Keep some in your stockpile as well as in your survival bag, you never know when it’ll come in handy.
It’s available just about anywhere and comes in a variety of sizes.

Removing the head, or destroying the brain. The only sure fire way to put a zombie down for good. Yeah, yeah, zombies are slow, and don’t really understand that the rifle you’re aiming for their dome is going to end their shuffle to the buffet line, but that doesn’t mean you have the luxury of waiting for them to up close and personal. With large waves, you’ve got to hit them on your first shot, and you’ve got to do it from as far out as possible. The Trijicon ACOG® is your rifle’s new best friend. With 6x magnification, the ACOG® incorporates Trijicon’s Bindon Aiming Concept™ (BAC) – a revolutionary both-eyes-open method of aiming. It’s even got a bullet drop compensator with additional aim points for estimated trajectory of the 5.56mm round. Meaning you can pair this puppy up with your Sig556 and get maximum potential out of every round you fire during your undead crowd control shift.
