That last post about the compound bow, talking about the throwing knives really made me curious about throwing axes. So a quick search brought up one of our favorite companies, Cold Steel. They really know how to bring some serious “cold steel” to the game, and the Bad Axe is no exception. Over 2mm thick and fully heat treated medium carbon steel for strength helps this thing really pack a wallop when it finds its mark. The Bad Axe has all the necessary weight for zombie skull chopping and throwing giving you an excellent weapon with serious attitude. It comes with a factory sharpened utility edge, but it can easily be sharpened to a razor edge.

Silent but deadly. Sure we giggle when we hear it now, but when you’re thrown right into the middle of a survival situation when you need to protect your self by picking off zombies from a distance without the loud report of a firearm, silent but deadly is exactly what you need. Most off the shelf basic bow packages just don’t give us novice archers a chance at hitting even the fattest of zombie heads, but the Illusion has all the bells and whistles you need to make it from point A to point B bite-free.
Also, you can’t forget that you may have a crazy explosives dude (hopefully with all his digits, so you know he’s reliable) in your crew, that can outfit your arrows with explosive tips so you can run around shirtless like Rambo (fictional_character_reference++).

Sometimes little details that make your life easier can give you that much needed morale boost out in the wild. The SL Pro Series for Outdoors has plenty of those little details to make you feel more prepared without having to carry a crazy amount of gear. This handy little “system” has a 50/50 serrated blade and a variety of inserts to choose from, including a magnetic light, a diamond sharpener and a fire starter (I’m talking about the fire steel, not the pyrokinetic Drew Barrymore). With this handy tool, you’ve got a blade, a bright LED light, a loud emergency signal whistle, and whatever attachment you decide to slap in there.

Scouting ahead isn’t always a smart thing to do in areas with clusters of shambling undead. It’s dangerous, takes a lot of manpower, and is mentally draining on your group. You need some eyes in the sky in the hard-to-scout urban ruins. Why not slap a camera on the X6 Draganflyer 6 rotor UAV and put some eyes high up where you can actually see that crowd of zombies waiting in line for the midnight release of your brains. The x6 is expendable, reliable and easy to fly. You can mount any type of surveillance equipment to suit your needs, whether its a still camera, a high resolution camcorder, night vision or thermal imaging (not that zombies put out much heat), giving you some serious versatility that would take a lot more manpower and coordination on the ground. I think the biggest plus for me is the anti-vibration camera mount, so I don’t have to worry about getting sick like we’re recording the sequel to the Blair Witch, or Cloverfield. Just one more thing to be thankful for.

We’ve helped you stock your weapons cache with all kinds of rifles and long arms as well as a couple of pistols, but you should also think about packing an effective sub machine gun out in the zombie playgrounds as well. The KRISS Super V Vector SBR/SO should fill that role nicely, we think. Most of our favorite SMGs fire the ever popular 9mm, but you want the option to bring the thunder without spoiling your aim while unleashing the full auto fury. The Vector fires the manly (not Manley) .45 ACP, but the Super V system reduces felt recoil by 60% as well as reducing muzzle climb by a whopping 95%. Yes, that means you can put the slugs right where you need them, even when firing full auto at 1000 rounds per minute. Take that, Zed!
