Once again, those chaps at Beretta catch our eye. Another in their Storm collection, the Beretta Px4 Storm sub-compact brings the reliability and innovation that comes with the Beretta name. While concealed carry isn’t always in the list of traits for a reliable firearm, there are obvious perks that come with the sub-compact category. I hate to mention, but sometimes zombies aren’t the only bipedal humanoid threat in this day and age. Having a nice powerful pistol tucked away is always a survivability modifier. Also, when you’re bringing weapons out, this one is nice and small, so it will be much easier to find room for this, than a full framed 1911 (although having both is the most optimal, I imagine). Even with it’s small size, the Px4 can still handle standard (and highly available) 9mm ammunition (It’s also available in .40 S&W), packing an amazing 13 rounds (10 in .40 S&W version) in such a sleek package.

I’m sure anyone that visits this site regularly will see very clearly that we’re fans of Cold Steel products. Not that we have any affiliation with them…we just feel that they really know their stuff when it comes to the sharp toys we tend to gravitate towards when we’re looking for a solid bladed instrument. The Cold Steel Two-Handed Kurki machete is no exception. A solid blend of a kurki blade’s power and versatility and the reach of an axe, this monster gives you plenty of chopping power. The blade shape has amazing cutting ability, a solid point capable of easily penetrating some of the thinner areas of a zombie’s skull, and the handle lets you position your hands in a way to properly leverage your body weight when swinging it around. An all around fantastic piece of steel that any serious zombie apocalypse survivor should think about packing.

Bringing a reliable firearm is no doubt a concern of every zApocalypse survivalist, but always ensuring you’ve got the ammunition when you’re out and about makes this difficult to manage sometimes. You want to be able to bring a weapon that has great range and accuracy, but sometimes all you’ve got is pistol ammunition. Beretta must have put some thought into this problem when they introduced the Cx4 Storm. The legendary arms manufacturer has delivered a great weapon system that allows you to bring some serious accuracy at range when all you’ve got is pistol ammunition. If you’ve only got .40 S&W, .45 ACP or 9mm laying around, no problem. The Storm fires’em all. Another big perk, it accepts all types of customization thanks to the Picatinny rails all over this beauty. Pull the sights off of that dry, useless AR-15 and slap it on the Storm, and you’re ready to put some rounds in zombie skulls.

There’s a lot of crap in the air, and it’s only going to get worse when the zombies show up. particulate matter, paint fumes and vapors are the least of your concerns when you paste a zed at close range with some double-ought buckshot at point blank range. You can’t risk breathing that stuff, but 3M has got you (or at least your face) covered with the 7000 series full faceplate respirator. It doesn’t matter if you reduce those Thriller video extras to a fine grayish-red mist, you can breathe easy, knowing you won’t be taking a piece of them with you, stowed away in your lungs. Plus the wide faceplate doesn’t restrict your vision, so even if you can’t smell them coming, you can still see them flanking you.

I’m not here to make your decision of which side to take in the great “revolver vs semi-auto” debate, but I do want to make sure you have plenty of options when making up your mind. Enter the Smith & Wesson M&P R8, an 8-shot revolver bought to you by one of the premier revolver manufacturers. Yes I’ll make sure you hear that right, the R8 model 327 fires eight (8) .357 magnum rounds. In the zombie infested world of zTomorrow, you need a reliable rugged, easy-to-use firearm if you’re not an expert in all things boom. Revolvers have fewer moving parts, and rely a lot less on oils and lubricants, meaning if you’ve got poor firearm cleaning habits, the revolver will most likely perform when the zeds bash the barriers down at the worst possible time. The above image shows an optional configuration, normally the optics and light are not included…but c’mon, look at that beast! shell out the extra scratch to make your sidearm feel like it’s your go to weapon of choice.

Sporting hot new Parkour-friendly shoes and pants does you no good if they’re only there to make you look pretty. Mobility, speed and an overall high level of fitness will really make all the difference, and put your gear to good use. Parkourpedia is loaded with tons of useful information about this spirit or philosophy that incorporates “a method of moving within your environment and approaching obstacles of any kind, be they physical or mental.” As well as various techniques and conditioning exercises to give you all the tools and attributes you may need to stay one step, leap or vault ahead of the groping zombie masses. I think the icing on the top has to be a great article about how to choose the proper shoes for highly mobile ways.

Running around looking for survivors and survival gear, or on the move from zombies, you don’t want to worry about cracking your elbow or knee on the asphalt while tripping over stray bones. You could probably get away with typical sports gear, but I’m sure you would rather slap on some Armor Pro Tactical Pads. This extremely durable hard shell protective gear is comfortable, tough and still allows full mobility. The knee pads feature a metal rivet hinge to allow a full range of motion while still offering full protection and coverage. The elbow pads feature a “grippy” cap is good for contact on all surfaces and can slide up and down for personal adjustments and fit. Just be sure to resist the urge to grab a shambler in a Muay Thai plum to throw some crushing knee strikes, or dropping a flying atomic elbow off the dumpsters. Common sense is still a much more reliable form of protection.

Alright so Snipers have known for decades that range is one of the most critical factors that keep them safe and make it much tougher for the enemy to evade your fire (if they have no idea where you are, they don’t know where to hide). Enter the Desert Arms Stealth Recon Scout. Any decent rifle can give you serious firepower and accuracy at crazy long range, but the Stealth Recon Scout is a compact sniper weapon system allowing you to carry and deploy it much easier when you need to stay agile. The idea behind the SRS is a compact highly flexible weapon system with the ability to shoot several calibers, allowing the shooter to choose the right round for the job quickly and easily. The bull pup configuration keeps this beast a full foot shorter than most sniper rifles, which in conventional warfare will allow a sniper to move around with other combat units without attracting any additional attention until they’re ready to bring the fire. So maybe zombies don’t notice or care, but you’ll appreciate it when you’re lugging it through all types of terrains in any makeshift vehicles you may be hot wiring.

Until Wakanda allows the export of Vibranium (I’m sure we can find Adamantium, since it seems to pop up everywhere as it is), we’re going to live with shields made of steel. However since the only real threat is the teeth, fingernails and exposed jagged bone that the zombies are flailing away with, steel will do just fine. Courtesy of the Dark Knight Armoury, you can leap into the fray, inspiring those around you with Captain America’s shield, fully battle ready. This ruggedly constructed shield is more than enough to bash around those pesky reanimated corpses trying to get a piece of you and your crew. When things start looking dark, just strap this beast on and bellow out your battle cry. “Survivors Assemble!”

It’s pretty clear that you’ve got to make sure that your clothing provides ample protection in the ZApocalypse, but sporting great looking and highly functional clothing makes survival just a bit more bearable. You’re still human after all, and it’s nice to remind yourself of what humanity has left behind (and is fighting for once again). Grab a First Gear Teton Motorcycle Jacket featuring d3o intelligent shock absorption, so you can move about in style, while also sporting a protective garment when you’ve got to dispatch a group of ghouls that don’t really appreciate your fashion forward sensibility. The Teton has d3o gel in the shoulders and elbows for unparalleled flexible impact resistance. Especially if your main mode of transportation is a motorcycle. Not to mention, the zip-in liner is a stylish standalone wind/waterproof jacket with microfleece for warmth.
