Out in the mix, you really have to rely on your vision to make the tough shots. If your eyesight is compromised, you may very well walk right into the hungry maw of a lone zombie. As long as you’re protecting your peepers, you might as well use what the boys and girls of the military use. The ESS High Adrenaline Eye Pro CDI Max sunglasses provide some hard core eye cover. These MilSpec glasses feature an extra-wide field of view and easily swappable 2.4mm thick polycarbonate lenses, capable of withstanding a shotgun blast at 35 feet. Staying on the move is essential when you find yourself exposed and in need of finding new shelter, or a better fortification (beyond just a hasty fighting position). When you’re on the go, the ability to carry as much as you can is really going to help your long term ability to see another day. Staying hydrated will also help you stay on the move, but if you’ve got to stop to get your canteen, that just ain’t efficient when flesh eating zombies are on your tail. The Delta 5 Tactical vest by CamelBak carries 3 liters of water, with fully integrated hands-free hydration.

Built for speed in tactical environments, the Delta 5 features MOLLE attachments for CamelBak pouches and zip cuffs. It’s adjustable to fit most sizes with and without body armor underneath, and if things head south, it’s also got a heavy duty low profile drag handle, so your crew can pull you out of the party when the zeds get a little crazy.

Zombie Ammo Targets

Zombie Ammo Targets

If Zombies looked like silhouette cutouts with a bunch of concentric circles, I’m sure we’d all have no problem with head shots with enough practice. Unfortunately, they tend to look human with a bit of nastiness thrown in for good measure. That’s why when we go practice shooting, rather then regular old targets, we use the Zombie Targets from Law Enforcement Targets, Inc.. These realistic targets help train you’re eyes in getting used to the sight of the Undead and always aiming for the head. They even have a separate target for the brain showing how it’s positioned based on the Zombies pose. Cheap and available in several designs options, these targets make the ultimate companion for you pre-Zday shooting practice. I like to practice with the Hans target myself, as it feels pretty good letting loose on a Zombie Axis officer.
