I’m sure there are a lot of crazy folk that actually enjoy MREs, Spam, or some other survival food that most are already sick of while walking the zombie wilds. Hunting and fishing are excellent ways to change up the pace when it comes to meal time, so you’re gonna want a Picnic Time Buccaneer Grill when the time comes to sear the meat (and I suppose veggies) to perfection. If you’re going to spend the time to track down your prey, you may as well make sure its prepared to the best of your ability.

The Summer months are upon us, and its not easy dealing with the hot weather. When you’re chilling out keeping an eye on the horizon for a group of zombies trying to beat the heat, its nice to know that the Humidibreeze portable misting fan can keep you comfortable during your shift. Keeps you cool, and even moisturizes the air around you, so you don’t have to worry about that dry Vegas air wearing you down. Plus, it only uses 70 watts per hour. That’s less than a 100 watt light bulb, so even if you have this thing hooked up to a battery or generator, it’s not gonna drain the power, even on the hottest of days.

Having a big rugged 4×4 isn’t always a guarantee that you can always get through any terrain. In the old world, you had the luxury of taking your time to get out of a jam. Sure it wasn’t always pleasant, but you didn’t have to worry about a pack of zombies zeroing in on your position. That’s where the Lift Trax portable traction system comes into play. It gives you a quick portable way of giving your hooptie a lift when you get stuck, or make a seemingly impassable gap into something you can just hop right over with a little tap of the gas pedal.

When you’re trying to get around in the wild, its not just about your physical ability, and mode of transportation. You gotta know all about the area you’re in, if you want to travel smart. Yeah, it’s manly to just unscrew the compass in the handle of your Rambo knife, but it’s smarter to strap the Casio Pathfinder PAW5000 to your wrist as you plod through the brush. This elegant all-in-one packs a triple-sensor analog digital timepiece that also includes direction altitude, barometric pressure and temperature sensors. The only thing missing is a zombie sensor, but the convenience that this piece affords allows you to spend more time scanning the horizon for shambling figures, rather than fumbling about with multiple sensors and instruments.

Did we mention, it’s solar powered, so you don’t have to worry about making a battery run when you’re running low on the juice?

That handy little compass on the back of your Rambo knife is a neat toy to have when impressing the chicks, but when you really need to find your way, you really should be packing the Lensatic Tritium Compass. This is one tough cookie, capable of operating in temperatures ranging from 50 below to 150 plus (hot enough for ya?). A tritium light source allows you to see your bearing, even in total darkness. So even if you’re tucked in a hollow tree stump, hiding from zombies, you can plan your heading before stepping out in the open.

High-performance polyurethane-coated nylon fabric is water- and leakproof; large roll-top opening allows easy filling

Keep moving. That is generally your best defense against the undead hordes. For this purpose, Zprepared recommends the Colossus Versipack, a bold new, no-holds-barred approach to Maxpedition’s battlefield-proven shoulder sling concept. The Colossus has main and secondary compartments, each filled with many internal pockets and dividers. A useful feature for keeping your survival inventory organized for quick access, while allowing you to stay mobile. The frontal compartment also has an additional lower zipper opening to access items at the bottom.

Two compartments designed for CCW accessories are included in the Colossus to allow quick access to your weapons in a pinch. Concealed weapons are a necessity, even in a zombie-infested world, because Zeds aren’t the only dangers out there for Zsurvivalists. The shoulder strap has an ambidextrous shoulder pad for comfortable left or right-handed carry.

Stylishly combat-ready, easily expandable, incredibly durable and available in six colors, the Colossus Versipack from Maxpedition can mean the difference between your life and undeath.

A good night’s sleep can mean the difference between becoming Undead lunchmeat and surviving to live another day. When on the go or in the open, you’re not always going to find a secure place to button down for the night. It’s really important that you have a safe place to catch some Z’s before the Z’s catch you.
The Blue Ridge Camping Hammock by Lawson Hammocks can be set up just about anywhere; suspended in or high tree or on the ground quickly and easily. Specifically designed for backpacking on hard terrain, this tent can be used where no other tent can even dream of going. It’s lightweight (less than 4.5 lbs), weather resistant, and flying insect free. In addition, it features a built in nylon pack cloth bed so there’s no need to lug around an additional pad.
All you have to do is find a tree out of Undead reach, set it up, and drift off into a Zombie free sleep. Just make sure that you check your surroundings and keep the noise down, you don’t want to end up as a Pinata for a Undead feeding fiesta!

We may not be Zombologists, and it’s difficult to say what the long term effects of winter is on the bodies of zombies, but we do know that extreme cold temperatures slow them down, and in some cases make some nice zombie-shaped ice sculptures. The problem is, traveling through such extremes is much harder on living bodies, so we need some help. The Marmot CWM EQ Sleeping Bag is tailor-made for the task. It’s rated for temperatures as low as -40 degrees (fahrenheit and celsius, how convenient). This sleeping bag is made to survive and help you stay warm and comfortable in the harsh climates you’re looking for to escape midnight snackers. Let the other survivors stupid enough to stay in comfortable weather lay around like burritos offered to the undead deities roaming around the state parks.
