DuraMax Flo n’ Go

DuraMax Flo n’ Go

Scavanged by Hudson Steele

The steps people usually follow when trying to siphon gas go like this: stick hose into tank, suck on hose until gas starts to flow, swallow some gas, induce vomiting, go blind. None of these steps are particularly helpful when Z’s are lurking at every corner, especially the blindness part.
When you’re on the move and your gas runs low you’re probably going to need something to help you fill up and chances are your nearest Shell Station is not going to be too helpful. The DuraMax Flo n’ Go acts as a fuel container that can both fill and syphon your tank. It features a 14 gallon fuel container with the patented Flo n’ Go Siphon Pump, to make sure you get every last drop of gas without the need for running back and forth. We’d suggest filling it up as a backup tank before you hit the road, and checking abandoned cars along the way where it’s safe.

SaberCut Saw

SaberCut Saw

Scavanged by Max Hard

When it comes to the saw, there is usually a trade-off between having an effective cutting instrument and a convenient, portable design.  Bridging this gap has never been more important than for Z-Day preparedness, and for this reason (what other reason could there be?) Ultimate Survival Technologies has created the SaberCut Saw.

A flexible 24 inch chain blade allows bidirectional, fast, smooth cutting action and self cleaning teeth that require little maintenance.  This little powerhouse weighs less than a pound, and includes a ballistic nylon case with a belt attachment loop for quick access.

Rugged and versatile, the SaberCut can help you quickly build (or break through) barricades, or if you’re desperate, act as a gruesome garrote to decapitate or “de-limb” a temporarily incapacitated zombie.

Made in the U.S.A.

P-38 Can Opener

P-38 Can Opener

Scavanged by Max Hard

Widely considered “The Army’s Greatest Invention”, the P-38 Can Opener is a battle-proven reliable must-have for Z survivalists.

Developed in 1942 for the U.S. military, the P-38 has an absolutely simple and effective design that has remain unchanged in over six decades.  At a mere 1.5 inches in length (approx. 38 mm), its small size and light weight make it easy to carry on any keychain (or necklace).  The P-38 is also an OG of multi tools, “unofficially” acting as a screwdriver, seam ripper, bottle opener, wire stripper and for hundreds of other uses that soldiers dreamed up for it.

While not a “cutting edge” invention, it is definitely retro, and retro is the new modern.

I, um, apologize for the previous sentence in its entirety.

The machete with the power of an axe, this mean machine has been clearing brush since the 1940′s. this well balanced useful tool does a fine job of allowing you to make your way through rural and wilderness areas while looking for safety, survivors and supplies. The bonus is having a solid well build tool also capable of making short work of zombie extremities. WD 40

Most people don’t know the name John S. Barry, but almost everyone recognizes his legacy. He’s the man who made this simple, yellow and blue can ubiquitous in just about every garage in America. In honor of his passing earlier this month, Zprepared.com is reminding our readers of the contribution he made to preparing us for the Z Apocalypse.
This petroleum based wonder spray has been a fixture for do-it-yourselfers for decades. It can be used for anything from cleaning and protecting your tools and weapons, removing rust from salvaged materials, unsticking stubborn doors and locks, and getting rid of pesky squeaks that can alert Zs to your location. Personally, I like to coat my weapons with the stuff before run-ins with Zacks, as it makes it harder for them to grip and makes the gore just slide off. Their website claims over 2000 different uses but when the Zombies come, I’m sure they’ll add more to the list. Keep some in your stockpile as well as in your survival bag, you never know when it’ll come in handy.

It’s available just about anywhere and comes in a variety of sizes.

Shamwow

Shamwow

I know what you’re thinking; “Wait a minute, this is a Zombie survival site.  What the hell is the ShamWow listed here?”  To paraphrase an old wise saying:  A towel, is about the most massively useful thing Zombie Survivalist can have.  It can dry you off after it rains or a quick river bath, keep your gear clean, and can be used to wipe the blood, sweat and grime off your body after a messy run-in with some Zed-Heads.

Whether you’re on the go or hiding in your impenetrable fortess, you’re gonna need at least one good towel.  I would’nt trust all that work to beach blankets and paper towels, so it might be wise to pick up a pack of ShamWows.  Compared to the alternatives, these things rock.  They’re small, lightweight, and hold up to 12 times their weight liquid.  Unlike their cotton counterparts, you won’t have to lug around a damp ball of wetness hours after using it.  They come in a handy 4 pack (2 large, 2 small) for about 20 bucks, so you can keep several with you for various uses.

Gerber E-Tool

Not your average entrenching tool, the Gerber E-Tool brings some more useful features to the game. With a forged steel head and glass-filled nylon handle, this thing is tough enough to get the job done. The E-Tool has a serrated edge, and a cast pick attachment for making short work of roots, tough terrain, zombie limbs and stubborn zed skulls. it folds up into a nice compact 9 1/4 x 6 inch package for ease of carry. Can you dig it? Can you dig it? CAAAAN YOOOUUU DIG IT?!

Leatherman Crunch Multitool

Leatherman Crunch Multitool

Scavanged by Baehr Manley

When you’re running around salvaging gear, repairing equipment, or taking things apart, we here at Zprepared feel that you need a good multitool to reduce the amount of actual bulky tools that you may need to carry. I don’t know how many of you have tried to use standard pliers to remove stubborn nuts and bolts, but the Leatherman Crunch makes sure you don’t have to suffer through that again. This beast includes a set of freakin’ vice grips. Now you can grip stubborn hex heads like a zombie grabbing baggy clothing or a sweet flowing mullet. 13 tools total (you’re going to find your standard set of leatherman features) but c’mon, you’re only looking at this because of the vice grips. They’re vice grips, son! Get a grip (I’m sorry I had to throw that pun in there).
