I know what you’re thinking. ‘Does that bike have 9 gears, or only 7?’ Well, to tell you the truth, in all this excitement I kind of lost track myself. But being as this is a Smith & Wesson Tactical, the most rugged bicycle in the world, and would get you anywhere you need to go, you’ve got to ask yourself one question: Do I feel lucky? Well, do ya, punk?

I know what you’re thinking, and no, this post wasn’t mislabeled; Smith & Wesson does make bicycles. Built specifically for use by law enforcement, security and emergency response teams, this bike is an ideal mode of transport in an Undead world. Rugged, reliable, and versitile, this Bad Boy can get you no 4-wheeler can, without the use of fossil fuels.

The thing about cars and SUV’s, you’re pretty limited to roads and trails. No matter how rugged your SUV is there’s no guarantee that it will get you to where you need to go unscathed. When your back’s against the wall water and you’ve run out of road, it’s best you have an option other than to ditch you vehicle.
The Gibbs Humdinga can operate both a land and on water, making roads almost obsolete in some areas. Don’t mistake this for some gimmick though, the full time All-Wheel Drive, 350hp, 5.7 liter V-8 engine is no joke. Capable of propelling you to 100 mph on land and 40 mpg on water, this Bad Boy is a good choice for Zsurvivalists looking for a rugged, versatile vehicle that can get some distance between you and the Z’s without relying on asphalt. There’s no pricing info as of now, but I’m pretty sure it’ll cost a pretty penny.

Unicat Amerigo Unimog

Ever wonder what would happen if you took a Hummer and an RV and locked them in a hotel room together with some Champagne and Marvin Gaye on the stereo? Me neither, but I’m pretty sure the result would be similar to the Amerigo Unimog from Unicat. This Baby has all the trappings you’re going to want if you need to go off grid for a while after Z-Day. Permanent full-time 4-wheel drive, Mercedes-Benz 906 diesel engine, 60 gallon fuel tank, high articulating coil spring suspension; the list goes on and on. It doesn’t stop at just off-road readiness either, mounted on it’s back is a fully useable RV featuring a kitchenette (with a fridge, stove, microwave, & sink), Queen sized bed, washroom with a shower and a toilet and seating for up to 4 people. They even thought ahead enough to make sure all the windows and skylights were Burglar-Proof and Scratch resistant.
Consider this the Mullet of Recreational Vehicles, all business in the front, party in the back.

2009 Yamaha Zuma

When hitting the road after an outbreak you don’t have to have be the fastest, just faster than the Z’s. There are many situations where 4 wheelers can’t get to where you need to go, and many people are intimidated by the big engines and the manual clutch of motorcycles.
We at Zprepared suggest the Zuma scooter from Yamaha for all your Zombie scooting needs. Available in both 49cc and 125cc variations, this is one tough scooter. It features either a peppy air cooled 2-stroke 50cc engine or you can opt for the larger, fuel injected 4 stroke if you need a little more power. The beefy tires make sure you don’t have to worry about the roads being paved and the fuel economy is unbelievable, getting an amazing 123mpg for the smaller of the two.
Hopefully, after Z-Day, most people you run into won’t remember the joke about scooters and fat chicks… If you don’t know the joke, google it.

“Turtle” Solar Powered Airship

“Turtle” Solar Powered Airship

Zombies can walk, crawl, or climb thru just about any terrain, on land or at sea. The only thing we know Zombies can’t do is Fly. Planes and Helicopters are great forms of transportation, if you have the know how and fuel, but for sustained defense they fail miserably.
The Solar Powered Airship from Turtle Airships just might be the ideal Zprepared base of operations.
This lighter than air ship runs purely on solar power (with a bio-diesel backup engine) for sustained flight. It can land just about anywhere, with VTOL and amphibious capabilities so there is no need for runways. It fits 3-5 people but I’d save a little room for supplies and weapons.
Judging from this AWESOME photoshop job and their stellar website, there’s no telling when, or if the project will be commercialized. Let’s hope we can get our hands on one before Z-Day.

Landrunner Conversions

If you can get past some of the obvious shortcomings, Jeep Wranglers are great Zombie Survival rides. They’re rugged, relatively compact, and in 4X4 variations, Rubicon tested. Unfortunately, they have limited cargo-space, very little by way of exterior protection, and compared to some of their larger cousins (such as the H1 and Land Rover), aren’t as off road ready.
The folks at Landrunner Conversions are here to help. They offer a wide variety of upgrades and accessories that are sure to get your Jeep where it needs to be by Z-Day. Upgrade the body, add a roof rack for extra storage, attach one of their mean looking fastback shells, and throw a bumper guard and winch in for good measure and you’re pretty much good to go.

You can either bring your Jeep in, or send away for the Do-It-Yourself Kit.

Sometimes 2 Wheels are not enought and 4 Wheels are just too many.  Cars and SUVs are perfect for those who need stability and are carrying lots of goodies.  Motorcycles are small, versitile, and tend to be much more fuel efficient.

For those of you looking for the best of both Worlds, Ural Motorcycles have the answer for you.  This Russian made bike is cool, rugged, and can eat up just about any terrain you throw at it.  Ural makes the only bikes available in the world with side car drive, meaning power goes to both the rear wheel, and side wheels.  This ensures that no amount of dirt, gravel, or snow will keep you from getting to where you need to be.  The limited edition Saharah comes with several nifty upgrades; like a spare tire, luggage rack, gas cannister, shovel, and spotlight.  Oh, did I mention it has a Freakin’ Side Car?  Perfect for carrying extra gear and supplies or bringing along someone to ride Shotgun.  I mean that literally.

Conquest Knight XV

When facing a world of the Undead, your vehicle choice says a lot about your level of preparedness. The world is filled with plenty of SUV’s and trucks, unfortunately most of them are glorified cars built with rugged looking exteriors. Even the Hummer has been watered down from it’s past glory with the H2 and H3 variants.

If money is no concern, the guys and Conquest have the perfect vehicle for you. The Knight XV is their flagship vehicle and the ultimate in survival. This behemoth of as SUV offers ruggedness, protection, and comfort all in a stylish package. Built entirely from the ground up on a modified Ford chassis, this Zombie stomper is powered by a V10, 6.8-litre flex-fuel engine with an optional Diesel version if that’s your cup of tea. The 40 gallon gas tank will get you plenty of distance from any hot-zones while the 4-wheel drive will allow for just about any path. Its exterior is wrapped in military grade armor so no amount of clawing or biting will allow the Zead-Heads in. All this while offering an ultra luxurious interior that would make a Bentley driver envious. Just make sure you hurry because production is limited to only 100 units.

The bicycle is probably one of the best modes of transportation in a world overrun by the Undead. They’re quite, compact, reliable, and require no fuel other than your own power. That’s why Zprepared is always keeping an eye out for the perfect 2-wheeled pedal mover.
