Many zombie survival experts tend to lean towards some hardcore tools and weapons, like swords and crowbars, but most of us here at ZPrepared prefer a rugged combat knife. It’s not the greatest weapon against the undead (firearms can’t really be beat in most cases), but the sheer versatility can’t be argued. It’s a tool and a weapon, they’re always easy to carry, and chances are, you’ve always got one on your person. We post all kinds of various tools, weapons and other goodies that can be used to fight the undead, but this time it’s all about how to “play” with the toys. Roger Ma’s Zombie Combat Manual: A Guide to Fighting the Living Dead has a ton of useful information on all aspects of battling the undead. Packed full of survival accounts, weapon type reviews, and even chapters covering various physical builds, including their strengths and weaknesses when you’re mixing it up with zombies. You would be a fool to pass this up!

This book could very well change the way you choose your weapons, and really force you to think of the pros and cons, before grabbing any item off the hardware shelf racks. Just remember, don’t let the practicality of this book hurt your style.

Say you find yourself in charge of clearing a room with no lights (night time, no power, etc), and you left your night vision goggles back at the camp. Lucky for you, you’re carrying the Surefire E2D Defender® Flashlight. This compact, rugged flashlight generates six times the output of a typical 2 D-cell flashlight (120 lumens at it’s highest setting), and features a crenellated Strike Bezel® and scalloped tailcap, providing two sets of hard-anodized aluminum “teeth” as a last resort self defense weapon. Pistols and Shotguns are great additions to any anti-zombie arsenal, but having a quality rifle to put zombies down at long ranges is a great morale booster when the shamblers come knocking on your perimeter fence. The Sigarms Sig556 ER fits that role very well. this rifle fires the abundantly available 5.56 NATO round, giving you the ability to carry more ammunition compared to the larger 7.62. The Sig556 gives you much better accuracy to make those head shots before any pesky zombies get within your personal space. However, the compact 16 inch barrel, and collapsing stock allows you to keep this rifle in play when they get too close, or if you’ve got to clear tight spaces.

We here at Zprepared aren’t the only ones that feel this bad boy is great for dropping skull chewers, this particular weapon is also featured in Resident Evil 5, and does a mighty fine job of sapping the unlife right out of any pesky zombies trying to feast on your gray matter.
