Until Wakanda allows the export of Vibranium (I’m sure we can find Adamantium, since it seems to pop up everywhere as it is), we’re going to live with shields made of steel. However since the only real threat is the teeth, fingernails and exposed jagged bone that the zombies are flailing away with, steel will do just fine. Courtesy of the Dark Knight Armoury, you can leap into the fray, inspiring those around you with Captain America’s shield, fully battle ready. This ruggedly constructed shield is more than enough to bash around those pesky reanimated corpses trying to get a piece of you and your crew. When things start looking dark, just strap this beast on and bellow out your battle cry. “Survivors Assemble!”

All practicality aside, if you’re leaping into the fray to rescue a group of scared survival-impaired victims that just wandered into a group of brain slurping Z-Boys, take a page out of the book of infamous X-Man, Wolverine. The Pantera hand claws (designed by Tom Anderson) send a clear message to those around you (well maybe not the zombies…they really don’t appreciate the zApocalypse style we’re trying to perpetuate here): “I mean business!” If you’ve got a pair of these puppies clutched in your fists, it’s clear that you’re not timidly looking around for supplies, you’re there to put holes in zed faces, sever necrotic tendons and remove fingers so they can’t get a grip on your sweet mutton chops and motorcycle jacket, bub. Don’t forget the cigars.

Silent but deadly. Sure we giggle when we hear it now, but when you’re thrown right into the middle of a survival situation when you need to protect your self by picking off zombies from a distance without the loud report of a firearm, silent but deadly is exactly what you need. The Browning Illusion field ready compound bow puts some serious power in your hands without the fear of a loud crack bringing the undead hordes down on your position like a dinner bell. This is a fully field ready bow giving you the power and stabilization you need to make every shot count.
Look I know you’re not a modern day Robin Hood, or the living embodiment of Legolas, but you can’t always rely on your Browning rifle, and throwing knives aren’t the best tool for the job (although how awesome would that be if you could bring the steel rain like Danny Trejo on Desperado…wow that’s a lot of fictional character references in this post). Most off the shelf basic bow packages just don’t give us novice archers a chance at hitting even the fattest of zombie heads, but the Illusion has all the bells and whistles you need to make it from point A to point B bite-free.
Also, you can’t forget that you may have a crazy explosives dude (hopefully with all his digits, so you know he’s reliable) in your crew, that can outfit your arrows with explosive tips so you can run around shirtless like Rambo (fictional_character_reference++).

What!? All this time bringing you great products to survive the Z Apocalypse, and we’ve never talked about chainsaws?! Well that’s something we aim to remedy right now. It’s relatively well known that a good chainsaw is handy in a heavy, close-quarters zombie situation, so we’re not going to bother with the rest…we’re only bringing you the best. The Husqvarna 3120 XP is the meanest, biggest, most rugged bad boy you can swing when you’re seriously caught in a crowd of zeds.
Designed to pull chains on the longest bars Husqvarna has to offer, up to 6 feet! That’s plenty of clearing surface when you’ve got to mow down some serious reanimated corpses. I mean we’re talking limbs, heads, and even the toughest of torsos, plus you don’t have to worry about getting stuck in trees, poles or walls. The Smart Start, LowVib and other ergonomic features makes this heavy duty z killer easy to operate.
I suppose you could use it to clear trees too…

The machete with the power of an axe, this mean machine has been clearing brush since the 1940′s. this well balanced useful tool does a fine job of allowing you to make your way through rural and wilderness areas while looking for safety, survivors and supplies. The bonus is having a solid well build tool also capable of making short work of zombie extremities. If you find a yourself caught in a zombie’s “cold dead hands” you don’t have to worry about prying yourself out, when you can just take the whole limb off in one swing.
Skulls, wrists, knees, necks, There’s nothing that the Woodman’s Pal can’t handle when you’re out there trying to survive another night surrounded by tree and zombie limbs.

Not your average entrenching tool, the Gerber E-Tool brings some more useful features to the game. With a forged steel head and glass-filled nylon handle, this thing is tough enough to get the job done. The E-Tool has a serrated edge, and a cast pick attachment for making short work of roots, tough terrain, zombie limbs and stubborn zed skulls. it folds up into a nice compact 9 1/4 x 6 inch package for ease of carry. Can you dig it? Can you dig it? CAAAAN YOOOUUU DIG IT?!

Come Z-Day, you’re going to have to make some tough decisions about your inventory. When making a selection for your primary weapon, both the rifle and crossbow are great options. The rifle has great power, unequaled range, and potential for a decent payload. Unfortunately, you might as well be ringing a dinner bell in congested areas and once you’re out of ammo, it’s done. The Crossbow is silent, the bolts are re-useable, and allows for long distance kills without the need for gunpowder. This too has drawbacks as the reload time can be unbearable and the bolts take up precious space.
Luckily, the boys at PSE Archery has made sure that you don’t have to decide between to two. The TAC-15 is a crossbow that mounts onto a standard AR-15 lower receiver. It shoots at an amazing 412 fps so you know it’ll pack a punch. You don’t have to worry about being stuck in crossbow mode when things get tough because it’ll easily convert into the standard whenever you need.
With the TAC 15, you have the best of both worlds with minimal sacrifice. Rifle and scope pictured not included.

It’s well know that the most effective way to kill a Zombie is with a hard, decisive blow to the cranium. That’s why a good, durable blunt weapon is an essential tool to have in your arsenal. Baseball bats and crowbars and great options, but they were originally designed for other purposes making their offensive properties fairly limited. The Indian War Club from Cold Steel was designed for one purpose; to bust skulls. This ball headed club is based on a popular war weapon of American Natives and has been battle tested for centuries. Cold Steels take on this weapon is made from Polypropylene, making it virtually indestructible. It also has a removable short steel spike in the ball for extra oomph. This weapon is perfect as a secondary weapon, ideal for close quarters and tight situations.
