We have a saying here at ZPrepared, actually we have several, “Keep your blades sharp and keep your mind sharper!” Scrambling for you life for days on end can take a toll on your body, and your brains. In order to keep your wits about you during crucial moments it’s important to be able to give your mind a quick boost, especially considering sleep is a rare commodity in a Post Z-apocalypse world.
That’s why as a quick pick-me-up we suggest having an ample supply of Energy Drinks on hand. But being Zombie survivalist, not just any Energy Drink will do. The Zombie Awake the Dead Energy Drink is the perfect answer when fatigue is not an option. These compact 8.4 ounce cans are easily portable and pack plenty of caffeine to keep you going when the going gets tough.

At Zprepared we love our canned foods. Unfortunately, eating String Beans an Chicken Noodle Soup meal after meal gets old pretty fast. After a few months of the same old same old, nothing sounds better than biting into a big juicy Cheeseburger, but chances are you’re not going to be able to pull into your local drive-thru to get you fix.
That’s why we suggest picking up a few cases of Cheeseburger in a Can from Trek’n Eat. Just throw this sucker into some hot water for a few minutes, pop that can, and enjoy. It has a shelf life of about 12 months and there’s no need to refrigerate. Now all we need is some Fries in a pouch, and Milkshake in a bottle and we’re good to go.

If you’re out in the field collecting data on the area, (you know, things like zombie density, possible supply areas and other dangers) having a solid reliable laptop to cross check data and take some detailed notes you should make sure it’s something that won’t crap out the first time it takes a bump during a scuffle with some zeds. The Panasonic Toughbook 30 should suffice quite nicely.
The 160GB shock mounted drive will make sure you don’t lose your precious data and if by some crazy stroke of luck there’s some kind of usable network, this thing is ready to access it, allowing you to send and receive data in the harshest of environments (thanks to IP65 certified sealed all-weather design). With the crazy things this monster has survived, it’s nice to know that a little splattered gray matter and gore won’t stop the Toughbook from getting the job done.

Most people don’t know the name John S. Barry, but almost everyone recognizes his legacy. He’s the man who made this simple, yellow and blue can ubiquitous in just about every garage in America. In honor of his passing earlier this month, Zprepared.com is reminding our readers of the contribution he made to preparing us for the Z Apocalypse.
This petroleum based wonder spray has been a fixture for do-it-yourselfers for decades. It can be used for anything from cleaning and protecting your tools and weapons, removing rust from salvaged materials, unsticking stubborn doors and locks, and getting rid of pesky squeaks that can alert Zs to your location. Personally, I like to coat my weapons with the stuff before run-ins with Zacks, as it makes it harder for them to grip and makes the gore just slide off. Their website claims over 2000 different uses but when the Zombies come, I’m sure they’ll add more to the list. Keep some in your stockpile as well as in your survival bag, you never know when it’ll come in handy.
It’s available just about anywhere and comes in a variety of sizes.

If you’re anything like us, you’re preparing for the long haul. That means a fortified shelter, lots of supplies, and a plan to sustain yourself once the dust settles a little. When your food stores run out you’re going to need a way to sustain yourself, and other survivors you’ve collected along the way. When the going gets tough, the though get GROWING.
Most people don’t realize that the Produce you buy in the grocery store are of a Hybrid variety, meaning you can’t just plant the seeds from a Golden Delicious and expect to grow an apple tree. We recommend having your own supply of self germinating, survival ready seeds to grow your own crops. The Survival Seed Bank fits the bill perfectly. This kit comes with all the basics for starting your own renewable food source. It features 22 varieties of Open Pollinated “Super Seeds” that yield a full acre of nutrient-dense food crop. They’re individually vacuum packed for maximum shelf life; up to 20 years at 70 degrees, and up to 100 years when frozen so they’ll be ready to plant when you are. The kit also includes a nifty bottle of “Nitro Seed Starter Solution” to help jump-start your crop and a handy manual for rookies. All you need to supply is the land, water, ample light, and the manpower to make it happen. While the rest of the world is scrounging for leftover cans of baked beans, you’ll be feasting on fresh healthy veggies grown with your own hands.
